Tamara Jo Muhic

Beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, Tamara Jo Muhic, 52, of Windsor, Colorado, passed away on July 16, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born January 26, 1960, in Gunnison Colorado, Tamara is the daughter of Thomas J. and Joyce I. Muhic of Rye, Colorado. The oldest of four sisters, she spent most of her life in Colorado, a place she loved. Tamara leaves behind a daughter, Sarah Manuel (father, Eric Manuel); her parents; her sisters – Teresa Muhic (Brad Funston) of Cody, Wyoming, Tawnya Chott (Jim) and Katheleen Thurston (Eric) of Sedalia, CO; seven nieces and nephews; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tamara was raised in Pueblo, Colorado and attended the Colorado School of Mines as a Boettcher Scholar earning a degree in Chemical and Petroleum Refining Engineering in1982. She excelled as an Engineer, and over her 30-year career worked for various companies including ARCO Petroleum, Waste-Tech Services, Boise Cascade, and Goodrich. She was bright and talented, with a foundation rooted in strong work ethic and pride in a job well done. A project dear to her heart was her work on the design of the Pueblo Animal Services Shelter. Tamara adored all animals, especially cats, and she will be sorely missed by her two beloved felines, Panther and Buttercup. Tamara was also an avid Colorado Rockies fan and loved everything ""cowboy."" Her sense of humor and focused determination stayed with her throughout her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A loving mother, Tamara treasured her daughter Sarah to whom she bequeaths a commitment to personal and professional excellence, a fierce will to live, and an enduring love of family and friends. A Recitation of the Rosary wil be held Thursday, July 19 at 7:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2736 5th Street, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 20th at 10:00am also at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. Graveside Service will follow the Funeral Mass at 4:00pm at Roselawn Cemetery, 1706 Roselawn Road, Pueblo, Colorado 81006. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tamara's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200 Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or Pueblo Animal Services Shelter, 4600 Eagleridge Place, Pueblo CO 81008.
