TANNER MICHAEL STUHR BELOVED SON, BROTHER AND FRIEND Tanner Michael Stuhr December 1, 1993 - October 23, 2016, age 22, lovingly came into this world in Salt Lake City, Utah and passed into eternal life on October 23, 2016. Tanner attended school at St. John the Baptist Catholic Elementary and Middle school, and he loved his freshman year at Juan Diego Catholic High School, in Draper, Utah. Tanner spent most of his childhood in Salt Lake City before moving to Colorado at the age of 16 with his mom and sister. After moving to Colorado, Tanner graduated from Holy Family High School in Broomfield, Colorado in 2012. Tanner was a multiple sport athlete for most of his young life, playing football, basketball and baseball. His passion for all sports was something that was readily apparent after meeting Tanner and his sports knowledge was unprecedented. Tanner attended Regis University in Denver Colorado his freshman year and then, the calling to play basketball took him to Santa Barbara City College, where he fulfilled his dream of playing basketball at the collegiate level. Tanner then returned to his beloved Regis University, where in May of 2016, he proudly graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Neuroscience. Tanner volunteered at the Denver Rescue Mission and gave selflessly to all he came in contact with. Tanner also coached and refereed numerous youth basketball teams, and did so with all of his passion for the game. He adored his family with every bit of his enormous heart, treasured his friends and gave to them until he had no more to give. Tanner loved all sports but, playing basketball and golf, the Denver Broncos, the Utah Jazz, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and his beloved CHICAGO CUBS (they need to win the WORLD SERIES FOR HIM!) were undoubtedly his favorites. His hearts, his 3 dogs, Peanut, Jazzy and Lily will be at a loss without his love and affection; they always knew how to make him feel better when nothing else seemed to work. Tanner had an enormous and kind heart that knew no limits when it came to those in need. Tanner is survived by his devoted mother Valerie Stuhr, his loving father Peter Stuhr, his sister, his best friend, his biggest fan, Delaney Stuhr, his step-mother Alexis Norling and stepsister Milan Norling. Tanner is also survived by his mentor, friend and basketball coach at Holy Family High School, Coach Pete Villecco. Coach Villecco's guidance, friendship, love and support meant more to Tanner than words can ever explain and Tanner never stopped appreciating his love and devotion. Services will be held, including a private Rosary for the family and close friends, followed by viewing from 6:30 PM â 7:30 PM, with a Catholic Funeral Mass at 7:30 PM, in Tanner's honor on November 2, 2016, at St. John Francis Regis Chapel, 3333 Regis Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, 80221. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to one of the following: The Denver Rescue Mission, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Denver chapter, or any Animal Rescue Shelter in his name. Rest in Peace My Sweet Boy; TO THE MOON AND BACK
