Jeanne was born in Cranston, RI a few minutes after her twin sister, Joan. She was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and while attending Boston University she attended many games and was thrilled to see her all-time favorite player Ted Williams play. Jeanne moved to Colorado soon after she married Joel, her husband of 72 years. Her only job interview after arriving in Denver was with Sunstrand Aviation as they hired her immediately. It was there she worked her entire career, advancing over time to the position of Executive Secretary. After retiring from Sunstrand she stayed involved with the retiree group by writing the retiree newsletter, organizing phone tree to notify retirees of member relocations and of deaths and attending many funerals. She and Joel enjoyed retirement in their travel trailer by staying in Brownsville, Texas in the winter and fishing at Lake John in Colorado in the summer. Joel and Jeanne lived in the house they bought in 1953 until they moved into assisted living in January, 2022. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Jimmy DiMeglio and is survived by her husband Joel, sister Joan Smith, nephew Drew Smith, Ray, John and Jim Klingensmith, Gary and Greg Klingensmith and nieces Shelle Clarke (Klingensmith), Marcy Smith Lee, Liz Smith, Lydia Klingensmith and Pam Ribley (Klingensmith).
A Memorial Service will be held in Jeanne's honor on April 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, Colorado 80003.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
