Teresa Lynn (Fitzpatrick) Wegner, youngest daughter of Mary Fitzpatrick and the late Francis Fitzpatrick, died Oct. 10, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. She was 49. Teresa was born July 17, 1968, at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge and raised in Westminster. She graduated with honors from Iver C. Ranum High School in 1986. Teresa mastered the piccolo and the flute, participating in marching, jazz and concert bands, and she played the piano beautifully. During a short marriage to Rod Beach, she lived in Lawton, Oklahoma, and in Germany during the first Gulf War. She returned to Denver and began working as a bank teller. While working at FirstBank inside a Thornton King Soopers, Teresa met Marlin Wegner, who would become her second husband. As Teresa rose through different positions at FirstBank, she also earned her bachelorâs degree in business administration from Regis University, graduating in 1999. She continued her banking career with positions at FirsTier/Compass Bank and Advantage Bank. She last worked at Urban Lending Solutions, where she made many friends. Away from work, Teresa was active with the Boulder chapter of Business & Professional Women, the Colorado Womenâs Chamber and the Boulder Independent Business Association. She also regularly volunteered with the 9 Health Fair and diligently contributed to 9 Cares, Colorado Shares and other nonprofits, especially those that fought to cure prostate cancer. Teresa and Marlin continued to enjoy â80s music long after that decade passed. They frequently attended concerts by Journey, Styx, Heart, Def Leppard, Tesla, REO Speedwagon and more. During a pre-show VIP event in 2014, they played games of corn hole with the members of Journey and took several pictures with them. Her surviving family will hold Teresa in their hearts until they see her again: her mother, Mary, of Westminster; her sister and brother-in-law, Victoria and Marc Camron of Westminster; her parents-in-law, Delmer and Delphine Wegner of Erie; her brother-in-law and his family, Clark, Terri and Ashleigh Wegner of Broomfield; her paternal uncle and aunt, Bill and Sherryl Fitzpatrick of Wichita, Kansas; her maternal aunts and uncles, Sr. Mary Faith Okerson of Jamaica, Elaine Okerson of Oregon, Kathy and Jim Harford of Green River, Wyoming, and Oran and Shirley Okerson of Green River, Wyoming. Several cousins and friends around the country also are mourning her loss. Loved ones who welcomed Teresa to heaven include her husband, Marlin, who died in November 2016; her father, Francis, who died in 2015; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and other relatives. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, and a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3050 W. 76th Ave., Westminster.
