Terry Lynn Sipes

On the evening of Wednesday April 11th, 2018 Terry Lynn Sipes tragically and unexpectedly departed the life he so richly loved to become the guardian angel of those he left behind. He was 62 years young. Terry was born in 1955 in Boise, Idaho to Jasper Glen Sipes and Dorothy Jean Sipes, and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. When Terry was 19 years old he met his soul mate, Willy Maria Aalders, swept her off her feet, and together they have spent 42 blissfully wedded years together raising a family and growing as partners in life. During that time they gave birth to three children and later on they were blessed to add two more kids through marriage, four grandchildren, and three grand-dogs. Terry worked at Aramark since 2006 where he made several lasting friendships, and where he continued to expand on his example of excellent work ethic for his children. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and friend to all who had the privilege to know him or call him family, and he will be sorely missed. Equipped with a disarming sense of humor, a dynamic smile, and a uniquely fun-loving personality, Terry’s intent was to never take life too seriously. He was skilled with his wit and charm, and his heart of gold shone through in his smile. He was compassionate, the anchor that kept his family grounded, and a constant support whenever things have gotten difficult for anyone he loved. Terry had a large heart, a tender soul, and an intense capacity to unconditionally love, which made him a treasured example to his children as they grew into adults. Terry also had many passions in his life. He loved movies, trying new restaurants, traveling to Colorado, watching football, and spending time with his wife and kids. He loved being a grandpa to his grandkids and, in turn, they will always remember him for his generosity and affection. His life has been filled with joy through his family and he brought joy to every life he touched along the way. Terry’s wife and family will find solace that this parting is temporary. Until we meet again, may he watch over his family and hold them in peace as they find comfort in their memories. Babe, you are forever loved and will never be forgotten. Terry is survived by his wife, Willy Maria Sipes; his three children, Charity Lynn Sipes, Jason Glen Sipes (Jennifer), and Mindy Maria Rivas (Robert); as well as four grand-children, three grand-dogs, and his cat (Tabitha). He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Dorothy Sipes, and Willy’s parents, Antonia and Willem Aalders. May they all reunite and stand vigil over those they’ve left behind. The family will receive friends and family to celebrate Terry's life on Saturday, April 21st at 6:30pm at Avery Brewing, 4910 Nautilus Ct N, Boulder, CO 80301. A Celebration of Terry’s life will take place in Utah at Aramark Refreshment Services on Saturday, April 28th, and will begin at 2:00 p.m. Aramark is located at 2385 w. 1500 s.
