Thelma ""Beth"" Elizabeth Petersen

Thelma Elizabeth Petersen, 86 of Aurora, CO. Born in Chariton, Iowa to Dewey and Thelma Layton, the family moved to Colorado in 1936 living first in Windsor and later Boulder. Graduated second in BHS class of 1947, she was a bookkeeper at Blackmars Furniture. In 1949 she married her high school sweetheart ""Pete"" and for 67 years they enjoyed a wonderful life of family raising, work experiences and lots of travel. She worked in special education for Aurora Public Schools and was a member of DAR. She mothered two great kids, Cecelia and her husband Lane Luhrs and son Christian and his wife Mary Lou. She was blessed with six granddaughters, Emily, Jennifer, Christina, Allison, Stacy, Amy and a great-granddaughter, Olivia. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, family get- togethers, antiques, genealogy, church, springer spaniels, and a host of good friends.
