Theodore F. âTedâ Gielas, 77, passed away peacefully at home Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born November 20, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA to Theodore J. Gielas and Helen M. (Wolk) Gielas. He is survived by his loving wife Maureen E. (Daugherty) Gielas; his children Gary O. (Kristina) Gielas, Glenn P. (Kerri) Gielas, Gregg L. (Monica) Gielas; his grandchildren Lauren, Andrew, Molly, Aidan, Emma, Ryan, and Kathryn; his sister Barbara A. (John) Bruno; his nieces and nephews John, Christopher, Timothy, and Lynn; and many other loving family members and friends. Ted was an Air Force veteran, worked for United Airlines for more than 36 years, was a Brookline baseball manager, an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, golf aficionado and kazoo maestro. A Visitation will be held at 6pm on Monday, April 9th, followed by a Rosary at 7pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (9998 Grant St, Thornton). A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 10th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (11385 Grant Dr, Northglenn). Reception to immediately follow.
