Theodore Schulz

November 29, 1958 — February 19, 2024

Littleton

Theodore (Ted) Alan Schulz, 65, was called home to our Lord on February 19, 2024.   He was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 29, 1958 and baptized on January 18, 1959, when the Lord made him His child.  Ted was the 5th son of Gene and Eleanore Schulz and was a twin. His parents named him Theodore because as the second twin, and last child, he was a gift from God. He moved to Lakewood Colorado in February 1985 to begin his cartography career at the US Geological Survey.  He worked there for 39 years before his death.

Ted met his wife, Jan, in Colorado and they were married in May 1987.  They enjoyed over 36 years together and were blessed with two daughters, Nicole and Alyssa.  Ted and Jan enjoyed traveling and over the years they had fun and memorable vacations including trips to Europe and many places in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.  An extra special trip for Ted was in the fall of 2019 when he and Jan along with many family members traveled to Chartres, France to see Ted’s father presented with the French Legion of Honor for his service in France during WWII.

Ted also enjoyed being a volleyball referee for about 20 years and refereed high school boys and girls, college and club games.  He made many close friendships over those years. He was at one of his favorite tournaments when he suddenly passed.  He truly loved the game.

Ted is survived by his wife, Jan, his daughters Nicole Tranberg (Tom) and Alyssa, his mother Eleanore Schulz, 4 brothers, Dave (Beth), Mark (Karen), Tom (Carolyn) and Paul (Ella) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, sisters and brother-in-law.  He was predeceased by his father Eugene in 2022.

A Christian victory service will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 2600 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Denver CO 80227.  A luncheon will follow in the church basement.   Memorials in Ted’s honor may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
