Theodore Eugene Smith Jr.

Theodore Eugene Smith, Jr., of Littleton, CO, died October 16, 2024 in Highlands Ranch, CO. He was 67.

Ted was born February 20, 1957 in Pueblo, CO, the son of Theodore and Lucille Smith. He graduated high school from Pueblo Central High School in 1975 and then attended Colorado School of Mines before graduating from Colorado State University Pueblo in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.

Ted loved his career in the electrical engineering industry and spent time in CA working for Lockheed Martin. As he was a family man, he returned home to CO to care for and support his widowed mother, Lucille, in 1984.

On April 3, 1993, he married Valerie in Highlands Ranch, CO. Ted worked for ESS Metron as a Continuous Improvement Manager. His hobbies included boating, snowskiing black diamond trails, stargazing, waterskiing, supporting his wife and children in their hobbies, and traveling to Europe (particularly Switzerland); he enjoyed vacations with family and camping, four wheeling, and hiking. His favorite car was his 1970 Oldsmobile 442, which he drag raced, and was one of the fastest cars in Pueblo, CO.

Ted is survived by his wife, Valerie Smith; daughter, Angela Smith, of Columbia, MO; son, Matthew Smith, of Thornton, CO; sister, Karen (Doug) Lear of Calhan, CO; brother, Paul (Carla) Smith of Walsenburg, CO; sister, Cindy (David) Cox of Pueblo West, CO.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Smith Sr.; mother, Lucille Arthurs; step-father, Frank Arthurs.

The viewing was October 21, 2024 at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home in Lakewood.

Scattering of cremains will be at Rocky Mountain National Park.
