It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa “Teri” Russell on December 18, 2023. She peacefully left this world at her home, surrounded by her family. Teri’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who held her dear. Teri will be remembered as a beloved daughter to William and Catherine Russell, born on January 19, 1952 in Mt Clemens, MI. Teri was the middle child of seven siblings. She spent her early years in North Carolina before her family relocated to Aurora, Colorado.
Following her high school graduation from Aurora Central, Teri embarked on a five-year adventure as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. In her professional journey, Teri found her calling in public service. She spent 30 years working for the City and County of Denver. The last 27 years of her career, Teri was a paralegal at the District Attorney’s Office. It was during her tenure there that she met Daniel Chun, with whom she shared a profound love and embarked upon a 37-year love affair and marriage. Teri and Dan shared many memorable experiences together. They explored the beauty of Europe and South America, creating memories that added richness to their lives.
Teri also found joy and pride in decorating her home, making her surroundings warm and inviting. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden where she found joy and satisfaction nurturing her plants and flowers. Beyond her career and hobbies, Teri was a compassionate and caring individual. She was a beloved sister, step-mother and friend always there to lend an ear, offer support, and provide unconditional love.
Teri’s legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her loving husband Daniel Chun, and her stepchildren, Daniel Chun III, Cristin Barringer, Corey Chun and grandchildren Daniel IV, Remington, and Cameron. Teri also leaves behind her siblings, Dorothy Harrison, Joan Goode, John Russell, Kathryn Canale and David Russell, and eighteen nieces and nephews each holding treasured memories of Teri’s love. Teri also touched the lives of her extended family. She was loved by her sisters-in-law Roberta Russell and Stephanie Russell as well as her brothers-in-law William Harrison and Steven Canale.
Sadly, Teri was predeceased by her brother James Russell, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. She also experienced the loss of her brother-in-law Thomas Goode and sister-in-law Cheryl Russell, their memories also live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
The loss of our beloved Teri leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her. Her warm heart, unwavering support and caring presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May Teri rest in eternal peace, knowing the profound impact she had on the lives she touched.
