Theresa "Terri," "Totsy," "Titi" Loughlin was a woman of many names and a life well-lived. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home on November 28, 2024, at the age of 95. Terri was born in South Bend, Indiana, on June 3, 1929, to William and Bernadette Loughlin. She was the sixth of ten children, a mother of three, a grandmother of seven, and a great-grandmother of ten.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Martin. Terri was preceded in death by her sisters Marie Cecilia Waters, Catherine Aline Jones, Naomi Margaret Loughlin, and Susan Louise Buckenmeyer, and her brothers James William Loughlin, Robert Peter Loughlin, John Joseph Loughlin, and Francis Martin Loughlin.
Terri leaves behind her three daughters, Heather Coogan, Heidi DiMatteo, and Kathleen O'Loughlin, as well as her seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A devout Roman Catholic, Terri attended daily Mass, prayed the rosary with friends, and completed the 12-year St. Bridget prayers on her 95th birthday. She embraced life with an adventurous spirit, experiencing things most of us only dream about.
Terri lived her life with positivity, never complaining and always focusing on the good in every situation. She took a genuine interest in others, remembered names, and sent hundreds of birthday and holiday cards each year. Her birthday parties were so popular they were limited to 100 guests.
An opera enthusiast, world traveler, and artist, Terri visited the Vatican, kissed Pavarotti on both cheeks, marveled at the Taj Mahal, and attended the Institute of Art in San Francisco in her sixties, where she lived in a dorm. One of her proudest achievements was a gallery showing of her paintings, a lifelong dream fulfilled.
Fifteen years ago, Terri returned to Denver and became an active member of St. Mary Catholic Parish. She carried a book of names of those she prayed for and was known for her warm hugs and words of encouragement.
Terri had a smile and time for everyone. She touched the lives of many with her love, kindness, and curiosity about the world. She was always ready for a new adventure or challenge.
