Therese was born as a middle child, a position for which she was always grateful because she felt that she was better able to appreciate and benefit from the attributes of both older and younger siblings. Therese held many happy memories of her childhood. She enjoyed school and always grateful for an outstanding education due to the dedicated teachers at Our Lady of Good Counsel School. Her love of school transferred to her home where she would ""play"" school, assume the role of teacher and con her younger siblings to be her students. There was no dearth of children in the neighborhood so in warm weather the order of the day meant than scores of children would converge in empty lots or on closed off streets and enjoy countless invigorating games such as baseball, roller skating, hide'n seek and red rover. In cold weather the fun included sledding, snow forts, ice skating and building snowmen. What happier memories could a person have? Therese cherished the time she was able to spend on her Grandmother's farm. Her Grandfather had died quite young and her Grandmother (Granny, as they called her) and her children took over. When Granny needed help with such chores as picking up the potatoes and carrots, collecting hens' eggs and drawing water from the outdoor pump, Therese jumped at the chance to help out. She spent numerous weeks on the farm each summer until Granny finally had to give up farming. Therese said that she could still the recall the air of the farm and the sound of water running from the pump. When time arrived for high school, Therese attended Precious Blood High in Dayton. She then attended St. Joseph's College in Indiana where she obtained her teaching Degree. Finally, she obtained her Master's Degree in School Administration from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She was fortunate to have been able to teach in numerous states but settled in Colorado in the shadow of the Rockies. It was in Denver that Therese met a wonderful gentleman named Robert Morrison who was also a teacher. At the time he was a widower with five children: Margaret, Cecilia, Robert IV, Paul and David. As time passed, the love between Robert and Therese grew and they knew that they were meant for each other. They were married on December 26, 1977 and spent many wonderful years together involved in family life, teaching and enjoying God's outdoor world until the Good Lord called Robert to his Reward. Life changed for Therese after Robert's death but she continued to live life to the fullest keeping the spirit of Robert in her heart. Visitation at Horan McConaty Mortuary, 11150 E.
