Thomas Amory Baker

February 26, 1951 — April 10, 2010

Thomas Amory Baker was born February 26, 1951 in Beverly, MA and passed away on April 10, 2010 in Littleton, Colorado. He graduated Sterling School in Craftsbury Common, Vermont and Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. Tom had a 20 year career as an FHA underwriter with the U.S. Department of HUD. He owned and operated a very successful side business called Freedom Cover. Tom had a passion for sports and the outdoors. He played soccer, tennis and golf. He enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, sailing, boating, kayaking, camping and riding his Harley. Tom loved the east coast and cherished his vacations to Marblehead, Massachusetts with the boys. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Baker and his mother, Mary Amory Baker. He was a devoted and loving father to his beloved sons, Luke and Brian Baker; daughter in law, Jennifer Baker; and granddaughter, Addison Baker. He was a loving brother to Richard Baker, Mimi Lehan, Ted Baker and Nina Baker and their families; a step-son to Gretchen Baker; and step-sisters to Rebecca and Beth. He was a loving husband to his former wives, Diane Burdolski and Debra Baker and her son, Thomas Cope and their extended families. And his loving canine companion, Sully, who he loved so much, survives him. Tom left behind numerous extended family members and friends. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shane Raczkowski Fund, c/o Horan & McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80122. Shane, 23, is Tom's nephew-in-law. Shane loved his Uncle Tom and they had a special bond. Shane has a genetic disease called myocondrial myopathy. Tom always helped out with Shane's needs and we know he would like to continue his help and love that he has given all these years. Tom was so full of life; he was a very caring person and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
