Thomas A. Bancroft

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues and Students of Tom Bancroft, Your thoughtful words and stories written for Tom have been a wonderful gift to our family. He was an incredible man and continues to live on in all of your successes and life accomplishments. I would be remiss if I didn't have the ability to share something about him myself. I fell in love with him on our first date in Maryville, Missouri as college Freshmen. He had such a zest and passion for life and was so much fun to be around that it was infectious. I don't know that I have ever met another person with such energy and drive that never waivered. If it was a game, he wanted to win it. If it was a friendship, he embraced it for life. If it was a book, it had to be well-worth reading, dissecting, discussing and deeply thinking about. If it was a paper to be written, it had to be as close to perfect as he could possibly force you to perfect it. If you sought his advice, he put time and much reflection into his answer before attempting to try to help or guide you in life's many important decisions. If he thought you were wrong, he let you know it. If there was a roadblock, he would find a way to conquer, go around or solve it. He loved me, our children, our grandchildren, our parents, our siblings, our friends, his career and his faith with the same passion, drive and constancy that he put into every endeavor. We were all blessed to laugh with him, play with him, be inspired by him, to argue with him and to love him. Live on forever in our hearts, Tom. I love you, Jane, Janey and Big Jane Tom is survived by wife Jane, children, Brooke, Carrie, and Conor, 2 grandchildren, and 3 siblings.
