Thomas Jay Beals

March 7, 1958 — February 8, 2025

Thomas Jay Beals Sr, 66, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, after a fierce fight against cancer.

Tom was born to Vloris and Rosemary Beals, as the youngest of 5 children, in Blue Island, Illinois on March 7, 1958. He grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and went to High School at Crete-Monee H.S. In 1978, Tom married his high school sweetheart LaVene, and soon after they started their own family, going on to have 3 children.

Tom joined the United States Air Force in 1981 and worked as an Air Traffic Controller in support of the Persian Gulf War and other special assignments. Upon leaving the Air Force in 1992 Tom worked multiple diverse jobs across the country and enjoyed many years as a Private Investigator and Legal Processor.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Shauna Rose Gordon (Ian), Stephanie Violet Day (Derek), and his former wife LaVene Brooks. Tom is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Tyler (Lorrin), Kristen, Troy, Hayden, Gage, Taylee, and Lexi; 2 great grandchildren, Lenox and Jaxon; nephew, Anthony Joseph Ardizzione (who was more like a son); and his brother Willard Harlan Beals.

Tom was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Jay Beals Jr. (Jennifer), his brother Timothy Clyde Beals, and both of his sisters, Karren Lynn Beals and Junell Marthayne Beals.

Tom was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was steadfast in his testimony of Jesus Christ. Tom loved many things in this world including his country, Pepsi (not Coke), good pizza, great music, and he was one of the biggest Chicago Cubs fans you will ever meet.

Whenever someone needed a helping hand, an ear to listen, sound advice, or a doorstep to show up on, Tom was the first person most reached out to. He was always willing and reliable to help in any way he could. Above all, he loved his family the most. He enjoyed seeing his family grow their own families and did so with immense love and excitement.

Tom was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

This is not a goodbye, but simply a see you later.
