Thomas Edwin Brumley

March 11, 1943 — March 2, 2018

Thomas Edwin Brumley, 75, of Littleton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 2, 2018. Born in Tyler, Texas, young Tommy began piano at about 7 years old and received his first organist job when he was still in his teens at one of the Baptist churches there. In 1964 he married. His only child, Paige, was born in 1966. He received a master’s degree in Music in 1971 from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a legal guardian of Alexander Lolos. He was a pianist, organist and choir master with a beautiful baritone voice. He served in various denominations in these roles throughout his life. He was also ordained in the Old Catholic Church and served a congregation in Denver. Not one to settle into retirement, he was still working at the time of his passing as Organist/Choirmaster at Saint Joseph Episcopal in Lakewood. He enjoyed fishing, southern cooking, sweets, his family and travel. He really loved Hawaii and was planning a trip there this coming summer. He was most proud of being invited to play the pipe organ at the Vatican during the Millennium Jubilee celebration in Italy. He is survived by his daughter Paige Sgrignoli and his granddaughters, Morgan and Kesney Faubion; as well as his sister Gay Welch of Longview, Texas. He is predeceased by his parents JT and Violet (Powell) Brumley. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Saint Joseph Episcopal Church, 11202 W Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232.
