Thomas J. Cassidy, Sr., 83, of Centennial passed away May 19, 2014. Thomas was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 17, 1930. One of his early passions was photography, which he practiced in earnest during High School. After attending Ohio State University he enlisted in the Air Force where he continued to improve his skills as a photographer and which also brought him at one point to Colorado, and Lowry Air Force Base. While stationed in Tucson, Arizona he was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1955 holding the rank of Staff Sargent. He and his young family landed back in Colorado where he worked at Stanley Aviation for a short time. He then went on to a career at Martin Marietta as an aerospace engineer, (Rocket Scientist), where he retired after 35 years. After his retirement he traveled, making the Big Trip in 1994, which included London, Europe and Egypt. Another trip to Europe in 1995, and then a guided return trip to Egypt in 1996. He also learned to scuba dive, and enjoyed golf immensely as a player and spectator. Thomas is survived by his children David A., Valerie A., Thomas J., Jr., Robert L., and James P. (Charlotte); grandchildren Jonathan (Regina) Senger, Tiffany M. Cassidy, Jennifer (Nate) Morris; and great grandchildren Jordan Senger, Caleb Morris, and Zoe Morris. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:00am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (One block west of Holly Street), in Centennial.
