Thomas John Doyle

Thomas John Doyle (Tom) 80 of Centennial, CO passed away November 12th 2018 due to complications due to pneumonia. Thomas was born March 5th 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to Walter and Grace Doyle. He was the youngest of five children who lived in Upper Darby, PA. After graduating from the West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys in 1956, Tom joined the Air Force later in October that year. Within one month, Tom found himself in Air Traffic Control training at Keesler AFB in Mississippi. In just 5 short months, Tom had successfully finished his training and was assigned duty at Lowry Air Force Base March of 1957. Tom met Marjory A. Van Anne at the USO in Downtown Colorado and was married June 27th 1959. Tom and Marjory moved to Philadelphia, PA in 1960. They moved from Philadelphia back to Denver so Tom could take a position with the Martin Company in 1962. They then returned back to Philadelphia in 1964 to work in the family chemical business ""Grace Products"". Tom and Marge relocated to southern California in 1968 so Tom could take a job with the FAA in El Toro California for an air traffic controller. In 1974, the FAA selected Tom to join the control tower at Stapleton airport in Denver. Tom retired from the FAA In 2003 and was a frequent traveler. He visited Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Medjugorje, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Holland, Italy and England along with Marge. There were also several trips to Hawaii. His passions of life consisted of his faith, fishing, RV trips, his children and routing for the Denver Broncos and the Villanova Wild Cats.

He was survived by his five children Debora Ann Schroder of Dillon, CO, Theresa Ann Levine of Potomac Falls, VA, Lisa Ann Doyle of Aliso Viejo, CA, Kimberly Roberts of Littleton, CO and Thomas Doyle Jr. of Littleton, CO along with his 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Rosary and viewing is planned for Monday, November 19th from 5-7pm at Horan & McConaty. 11150 East Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014. The Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, November 20th, at 10am at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, 18000 East Arapahoe Road, Aurora, CO 80016. Lunch to follow after the funeral services conclude. Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236. Military Honors at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is suggested as it was one of Tom’s favorite charities.
