Thomas R. Elmblad We are saddened to inform you that our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, Thomas R. Elmblad, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2016. He was born August 2, 1929, in Houghton, Michigan, and lived in L'Anse, until he attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. As well as excelling scholastically, Tom was an accomplished track athlete. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1951, and started his career at Whiting Corporation in Harvey, Illinois. He became President and CEO of Whiting in 1974. While employed there, Tom met the love of his life, Trudy, and they married in 1956. In 1982, he became the President and CEO of GWF Corporation, an energy co-generation firm, in Irvine, CA. In 1985 following retirement, Tom and Trudy moved to Colorado, where Tom was an avid sportsman. Tom will be forever missed by Trudy, their two daughters: Linda (Paul) Lautenbach and Christina (Jon) Sands, and seven grandchildren: Molly, Kelsey, Peter and Natalie Sands, and Kylee, Charlie and Shelley Lautenbach. He is also survived by three siblings: Bruce Elmblad, Mary Stock, and Betty Codd. Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood, Colorado.
