Thomas C. Hart

Thomas C. Hart loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on December 13, 2012 in Aurora, CO surrounded by his loving family on the occasion of his 82nd birthday. Tom was born on December 13, 1930 in Boonville, IN to Mildred and Hershel Hart. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Hart; devoted father of Robert (Janet) Hart, Deborah (Tom) Leiper, Linda (Sam Betters) Jaster, Joann (Paul) Compton, Karen (Meredith Nelson) Hart; loving grandfather of Ryan Hart, Courtney Hart, Allen (Grace) Leiper, Christein Leiper, Jessica (Patrick) Madden, Patrick McAnulty, David Compton, Jennica Compton, Marissa Hart; proud great grandfather of Tommy Leiper, Shane Leiper, Sammy Leiper, Celeste Leiper, Alex Leiper and soon to be born baby boy Madden. He was the brother of Gladys Faass, Marie Jones, Edwin Hart and Thelma Hart, all who preceded him in death. Tom faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Air Force as a Precision Measurement Equipment (PME) specialist. He joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and retired 24 years later at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He had a successful second career as a Realtor and served as the President of the Aurora Board of Realtors in 1985 and was named Realtor of the Year in 1986. Tom was the ultimate handyman and could fix anything from the electrical wiring to a leaky kitchen faucet. He loved to work around the house and on his immaculately manicured lawn on the weekend. He loved his family and Country Western music, especially Johnny Cash and Vince Gill. He enjoyed sharing his house, lawn and music with friends and neighbors hosting BBQ's in the summer. Tom fought a valiant fight against Parkinson's disease for 27 years. Tom always said his greatest legacy would be his children. Visitation, Sunday, December 16, 1-3 PM with Funeral Service at 3 PM, at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora. Burial Monday, 10:15 AM, Ft Logan, Area C.
