Thomas Edward Hobson
Owner, Tom Hobson Excavating Company
September 22, 1948 - December 20, 2023
Tom Hobson, a man with the biggest smile and kindest heart, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2023 at the age of 75. What you saw is what you got with Tom. He was truly genuine, unassuming and down to earth.
Tom was a legacy in Arvada in the business of excavation and site utilities. He was very respected and well known for his work and excellent skills, but most importantly, he left his footprint by teaching and showing others the excavating business. Many looked up to him and sought his advice.
As a couple, Tom and his wife, Karen, dined weekly with friends, never apart and referred to as Tom and Karen. Friends enjoyed his quick wit and his light-hearted attitude. Hard to imagine Karen without him. Besides meeting up with friends and enjoying margaritas, Tom also enjoyed his work, traveling, fishing and most of all boating.
Above all else, Tom was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife, Karen Hobson; his daughter, Renee Luton (Danny); his son, Jeremy Hobson; four grandchildren: Breanna Luton, Jordan Hobson, Ronnie Luton and Jenna Hobson; two great grandchildren: Jackson Hobson and Emmet Luton and his siblings, Anne Marie Jones (Jeff) and Barbara Marklin (Donnie) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Jayson Hobson, and parents James and Annie Hobson.
