Thomas F. Lally, born November 26, 1946, died on November 4, 2018 at the Rocky Mountain Region VA Medical Center. He was a loving and beloved brother to Julie Stewart and Mary Owens and husband Maurice Owens, Paul Lally and his wife Mi Kyong Lally. Additionally he is survived by his nieces: Gwendolyn Carnes, Angela Stewart and husband Eric Johnson, Nicole Jones and husband Jeffrey Jones, and Robyn Stewart; his nephew, Daniel Levick and wife Grae Worthington, grand nephew Mark Carnes and grand nieces, Julianne and Margaret Jones; and extended family Jim and Linda Neubert who had Tom as their house guest during his last two months of life.
Tom was a graduate of Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, where he studied mathematics and was in the Reserve Officersâ Training Corps. He was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force after graduation in August of 1968. He was stationed in Colorado, Florida, Diyarbakir, Turkey, and North Dakota. His final posting was to Lowry Air Force Base and he has been a resident of Aurora since his discharge in October 1980. Tom traded futures, worked in information technology, became a tax preparer, a real estate investor, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a well-known 8-ball player. Tom loved books, beer, and lively discussions.
Tom will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery on November 28 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception afterwards in his memory at Eagles, 1151 South Galena Street, Aurora, Colorado.
