Thomas Landy

Thomas Francis Landy, age 71, of Pine, Colorado passed away on September 4, 2011. Born in 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tom was the oldest of four children, including Anne (Tootie) Grady, Kathleen Landy, and Robert Landy. Tom graduated from North Catholic Highschool in 1958. He later earned an associates degree from LaSalle College. Tom married Edith Scannell on May 18, 1964. They had three children: Michael, Patricia, and Lisa. Tom and Edie recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. Tom worked at Elkins & Co. in Philadelphia for 25 years where he achieved partnership. When he moved his family to Colorado in 1981 Tom's career took on an entrepreneurial tone. Tom co-founded several successful financial services software companies. Due to health issues, he retired in 1999. Throughout his life Tom avidly followed rock music and shared that passion with all those around him. He was also athletically active as a runner for more than 30 years. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife and their five grandchildren: Ian, Tony, Corinne, Bryan, and Lynsey. Tom is survived by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren. Visitation Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 3pm followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 5pm, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10am, Our Lady of the Pines, 9444 Eagle Cliff Rd., Conifer.
