Thomas N. Langlois

April 4, 1951 — October 22, 2013

Thomas Neil Langlois, 62, died October 22, 2013, after a three-year battle with cancer. Tom was born and raised in Freeport, IL, the middle of nine children. Tom left Freeport to serve in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserve where he started his work with government contracts and environmental cleanup. During his career after leaving the Air Force, he contributed to cleanup efforts throughout the United States and the world, including reconstruction in Iraq. Tom's jokes, particularly about the most serious subjects, helped those around him deal with difficult times. From his neighborhood pharmacist to his nurses and doctors, from his kids' friends to his immediate family, everyone in Tom's life remembers and talks about his levity, humor and sarcastic, sideways smile. With his wife Gail, Tom had five children, Cory (Jeff) Davis, Westminster, CO; Alison (Trevor) Rhodes, Boulder, CO; Katie (Colin) Langlois, Denver, CO; Tim (Shelbie) Langlois, Festus, MO and Rick Langlois, Westminster, CO. He was forever loving and proud of his children and family. Along with fostering his own children's accomplishments, the Tom and Gail Langlois household was always open to those who needed help and support. With Tom's help, many young people found jobs, cars, places to live and solutions to their lives' problems. He helped lighten life's burdens for many. But, words will never do Tom justice. Words diminish and shrink him. In our hearts, his love and devotion are limitless. Tom is also survived by his grandchildren Austin, Hunter Jack, Norah, Henry and Calvin as well as his siblings Mary Tyler, Kansasville, WI; Anne Secker; River Forest, IL; Libby Joyce, Providence Forge, VA; Bob Langlois, Elgin, IL; Dick Langlois, Minneapolis, MN; Joe Langlois, Minneapolis, MN; Muffy Johnson, Eden Prairie, MN; John Langlois, Bloomington, IL.
