Thomas Mckeon

March 15, 1937 — August 19, 2020

Thomas (Tom) McKeon was born in New York City, March 15, 1937 to Irish immigrant parents, Thomas Keon (McKeon) and Edith Ward from County Donegal, Ireland.  He passed into eternal life on August 19 2020.

Tom grew up in New York City and graduated with a degree in Business and Finance from Iona College. After graduating he served in the Army and was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver.  It was at this time that he met the love of his life, Judith O’Hare with whom he has been married for 56 years.  They had three children:  Steve McKeon, Teresa Hegyi and Kristen McKeon.  He was also very proud of his six grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlin, Alhiane, Jamie, Moira and Audra.

Tom worked for many years in the insurance industry.  Starting as a claims adjuster, he worked into executive management, and started the Colorado Hospital Association Trust.   He later ran his own business before retiring as an executive with a major insurance company.  He loved sports (the Denver Broncos and New York Yankees especially) and was an avid golfer and fisherman.  He was very proud of his Irish heritage and when he recently had his DNA done it was determined he was 100% Irish. He was dubbed “Irish to the bone”.  He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.

Thomas’s Funeral Mass will take place at the Church of All Saints, 2559 S. Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80219, at 10:30 AM Friday, August 28th, 2020.   Interment Tuesday, September 1, 2020, 9:30 AM, Fort Logan National Cemetery
