Thomas Edward Carter was born October 1, 1934 in West Virginia, the son of Craft Chalmers and Cora Mae (Hairston) Carter. He passed from this life on August 4, 2006, in Los Angeles, California, where he had been in private practice. Dr. Carter served with the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel. He served as Chief of Neurosurgery at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, as well as at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Jeannine, son Sean, and granddaughter, Maya. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2255 S.
