Lt. Colonel Thomas Jay Miller of Arvada, Colorado passed away on Christmas Day after a brief illness. He was the son of Arthur Miller and Charlotte Wolford. He was 80 years old. He is survived by his wife Linda Clippinger. Together they had four children, Scott, Lisa, Laura and Jason. Ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He graduated from Johnstown, Pennsylvania high school and earned a Fine Arts Degree from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. Upon graduation he joined the Air Force. During his career his duty stations included San Antonio, Texas, Biloxi, Mississippi, South Korea, Colorado and Alaska. Upon retirement he was employed by Cuna Mutual for 15 years and shared a land business with a mutual friend for several years. Tom and Linda enjoyed many summers at their cabin in Park County. He was well known for his culinary skills and artistic talent. Many have enjoyed his entertaining story telling! Tom was an avid fisherman and loved to fish at his many duty stations. He had some great fishing partners including Gen. Jimmy Doolittle and Roy Rogers. Tom was truly admired by all who met him and leaves behind many friends and co-workers who were saddened by his passing. His family is comforted to know that all of his beloved dogs were waiting at the gate when he arrived in heaven. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. A reception will follow the service.
