Thomas R Quatrochi

Thomas Ralph Quatrochi, aka ""The Big Deal"", age 97, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the home he shared with his beloved Mary and Miguel on the afternoon of June 15, 2014. Tom and his twin brother, Danny were born to Guiannella Giamarca and Guiseppe Quatrochi in Hoboken, NJ on August 17, 1916. Tom and Danny were the youngest of nine children. Tom served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corp in WWII. During his life, Tom made his living in a variety of ways, but his daily priority was to share lunch with his beautiful wife, Agnes. He retired at age 65 as an insurance agent. He was a loving husband to wife Agnes for 31 years, until her death in 1981. He is survived by his six children Thomas Jr., Daniel (Nancy), Mary Tuzzeo (Michael), David (Brenda), Joseph, and Julia Rubin (Brad); his grandchildren Marybeth Grubenhoff, Christina Reilly, Corey Townsend, Janey Kent, Joe Jr., Danny, Sam Rubin, Michael Rubin and Luke Rubin; great grandchildren Jacob Frank and Caleb Trevarthen and his newest great-daughter, Sylvia Spainhower. Tom was an avid golfer and he had a lifelong love of playing pool. Even in his elderly years, one would hard pressed to find anyone who could beat him at the game. In his 70's, after he lost his beloved Agnes, he picked up her tools and completed her last work of art and found his own artistic talent. Not only did he have a gift for painting, he developed a love of sculpting and created many amazing works of art. He left lasting memories to so many – even those with whom he had only the briefest of encounters. The most important thing to know about him was that for his six children he never failed to be their greatest advocate, staunchest supporter, mentor, advisor, friend and beloved father. His spirit lives in all of us and our children. A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO (303) 986-9615. A funeral service will then be held at 8:30 am on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the same location. Burial will take place at 10:15 am at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
