Thomas Lonam Redditt, Jr. passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones, on November 29, 2024. He was born on June 8, 1936, and lived to be 88 years old.

Born in El Paso, TX, he grew up in Shreveport, LA. One of his favorite stories to share was about Christmas in 1951. His father, Thomas Redditt, Sr., had received a big commission check and bought a car for his father and a Cushman scooter for him. This event marked the beginning of his lifelong love for Cushman scooters.

He served in the Air Force from 1955 – 1959. He liked to say that he flew a BGD2. (Big gray desk, 2 inkwells) He was stationed in Roswell, NM for part of his stint and that’s where he met his wife, Sylvia. They married in February of 1957. Upon being discharged from the Air Force, they took their newborn daughter, Sandra, and headed back to Roswell where they settled for a few years. He worked in the Roswell Savings and Loan where he rose to Vice President. He realized there was no other advance in his future at the bank, so they decided to head to Denver.

In Denver, he worked for his father at Tom Redditt Sales. While he humorously referred to himself as a "pots and pans peddler," he was actually a Manufacturer’s Representative in the restaurant equipment industry. He did that for 42 years.

He was the best dad we could have asked for. He and mom spent years hauling horses around for the girls to do Westernairs and gymkhanas. Then many more years coaching baseball for his boys. He was always there cheering us on. He did the same for his grandkids, too. He attended countless rodeos, baseball games, frisbee matches, and even some Girl Scout events, so he could watch his grandkids.

In 2000, he found a Cushman for sale! He knew he had to have it. Over the years, he acquired many more scooters and deeply cherished the friendships he made through various Cushman Clubs. He once shared that whenever he threw his leg over his scooter, he felt 15 again.

Mom and dad were involved in planting two churches in the southwest Denver metro area. His final gift to us all was his investment in and love of the Redemption Hills Church.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sylvia; children Sandra McAdow (and her husband Bruce), Patty Redditt, Lance Redditt (and his wife Darcy), and daughter-in-law Penni Redditt. He also leaves behind grandchildren Ross McAdow (and his wife Taya), Mitchell McAdow (and his wife Devan), Benjamin McAdow (and his wife Emily), Matthew Dart, Hannah Meadows (and her husband Brian), Chase Redditt, and Patience Redditt, as well as two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Banyan McAdow. He was predeceased by his son, John Redditt.

The funeral will be held on December 12th, 2024 at Redemption Hills Church, 7462 S Everett St, Littleton, CO 80128, at 10:30 AM, which will be followed by a reception at the church, then Interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
