Thomas Wayne Robertson

My beloved husband Thomas Wayne Robertson, 41, of Loveland, Colorado, shockingly, passed away on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Robertson, his grandparents Orvil and Norma Robertson, his sister-in-law Chelsea Brack, and his mentor, E.C. Cunningham. He is survived by Bryony Brack-Robertson, his wife of 20 years; his sweet boys: Francis Wayne Robertson and Vincent LeBris Robertson. And his In-Laws Byron Brack and Anne Brack and his Brother-In-Laws: Ben, Frankie (Loralee Reed), and Jake Brack. Along with an entire clan of Brack O’Brien aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his sweet Sister Rose (Joe) Williams, his niece Chloe and his nephew Drake. His mother Teresa (Tony) Bowen. his grandparents, Bob and Rose Travis. Uncle Vince (Debbie) Travis, Aunt Valerie (Randy) Horne. Cousins Kyle, Micheal, Gage Travis, Miki Bontrager, Jessi House, Christi Hampton. His Aunt Marsha Thorpe and his Uncle Butch (Becky) Robertson with their descendants, as well. Thomas also had a fierce chosen family in Jai and Link Burling, sister Deana (Neva) Wilson, Michael (Judy) Burling, and Amber Harmen, Ian (Meggen) Rumley, Elizabeth Plyler and Victoria Shelton, Ryan (Alex Sweitzer) and his son Drew Hennebry, Siabon King, Jeff (Nichole) Burfield, Sara Weaver, the McIntyre family, the Looney family and many others. Tom didn’t know a stranger. We all feel his loss and absence. 

Thomas Wayne Robertson was born on November 4, 1983 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a proud seventh generation Texan and oldest child to Teresa Bowen and Ken Robertson.. He was all sports and movement from a young age. His family called him Tank and he started playing baseball at age six and football at age eight, both of which he played throughout junior high and high school. He has coached Francis’s team for the last three years. When Tom was nine, after vacationing at his Great Aunt Grace’s house in Colorado; his family moved from Texas to Aurora, Colorado. They finally settled in Limon, Colorado when Tom was 14. Tom was on the competitive speech team through high school. He graduated from Limon High School in 2002, then from Fort Morgan Community College with his associates degree in 2003. He graduated from Metro State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in 2008. On a full printmaking scholarship, he finished his education career at Northern Illinois University earning a terminal degree of Master’s of Fine Arts in 2011. Throughout 2005-2020, Tom participated in multiple art shows both in the United States and Internationally. For the past several months, he was creating new pieces for the Edge Gallery for a December 7th art show with a solo show in February 2025. 

To his mother, Tom was a loving, caring, and compassionate son. He called and checked on her regularly. They shared a common passion for firearms. She will miss his teddy bear hugs forever. His heart was as big as Texas and leaves a hole in ours. 

Tom was a proud father who worked hard for his family whether at his job(s), the hospital, or on the baseball field. He was hilarious; he was naturally a goofy guy whether he was doing an impression of someone or telling a dynamic story. He would drop everything to help a friend with anything. He gave the best hugs with a good arm squeeze. He stood up for what was right no matter who he had to stand up against, which included doctors, teachers, and those who didn’t do right by his people. He would even fight a homeless person for a National Park Pass because that’s what his son deserved. Passionate about what he loved, a fierce protector of his friends and family, he loved his family first, and well. He would research something over and over, until he found the perfect…artist, AirBNB, GTube tape, car, house, or dishwasher. Always experimenting with flavors and sauces, he became an excellent cook. He could watch a video or listen to a lecture and know how to: bake lemon salmon, change a head gasket, create a litho print, or fix the disposal. His brain was filled with artists and art movements, so if you went to an art museum with Tom, there was no need for an audio guide–he’d give a better lecture and he knew all the art gossip. He called people, talking on the phone for hours staying in touch with others, even if he hadn't seen them for years. As a husband, he was a true partner; he was honest and loyal. He was my best friend. In many situations in Tom’s life, where others give up, he stayed strong and pushed through. He loved hard, and was loved by so many. More than anything, Tom was easy to love.
