Thomas George Seiler

April 15, 1950 — February 15, 2010

Tom Seiler, 59, Brighton, CO passed away peacefully at home February 14, 2010 surrounded in love, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born April 15, 1950 in Aberdeen, SD. He graduated from Roncalli High School in 1968. He enlisted in the Army, serving in the 82nd and 509th Airborne as a Spec4, Paratrooper/Medic. On June 12, 1970 he married his high school sweetheart, Joni Konantz, the love of his life. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Tom and Joni made their home in Denver, CO where Tom pursued a career in the home building industry and raised his family. He was a successful building contractor where he was an inspiration to others, and trained his brothers and sons in the same field. He used his creative talents to become a well respected leader in the home building industry. Tom was meticulous to details and thousands of homes throughout Colorado are due to Tom's skill and watchful attention. Tom was passionate about his family and his pets, and enjoyed hunting, playing cards and Yahtzee. His generous and fun loving nature made him a joy to be around and he was a good friend to all. Tom is survived by his wife, Joni; son, Kirt (Brandi); grandsons, Tye and Zachary; son Joey (Melissa Gibson); mother Catherine, Aberdeen, SD; sisters, Sandy Preble (Lee), Amarillo, TX, Sherry Schumacher (Bob), Sioux Falls, SD, and Linda Seiler (Michael Nagle), Salt Lake City, UT; brothers, Gary (Rose Pelz), Angola, NY, Keith (Kathann), Franktown, CO, Stewart (Fae), Arvada, CO, and Bruce (Nicki), Sammamish, WA; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Christopher and his father Thomas M Seiler. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9-10am; Funeral Mass, 10am, both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 715 Cabrini Drive, Lafayette. Burial at Mt. Olivet. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Children's Hospital of Denver.
