Thomas Tourkolias

Thomas A. Tourkolias, age 72, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

Tom was born December 4, 1946 in East Chicago, Indiana where he grew up. Tom proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Los Angeles Valley College and the University of California, Northridge. He lived in Thornton, Colorado and was a retired truck driver after 30 years.

First and foremost, Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He treasured his children, grandchildren and great-grandson and embraced every moment with them. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and he relished every opportunity to attend his grandchildren's school events, sporting events, award ceremonies and graduations.

Tom was an affectionate, warm, easy going, kind and loving man. He had a huge heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was friendly to everyone he met and loved talking sports and sharing stories. Tom was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. One of his favorite sayings was ""God Bless John Elway"".

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Jerilyn ""Jeri"" of Thornton, CO; his daughters, Sena Perego (Rich) of Thornton, CO; Trish Jackson (Andy) of Commerce City, CO; his grandchildren, Tess Tourkolias of Aurora, CO; Kegan Jaramillo of Westminster, CO; Jordan Jackson of Hill Air Force Base, Utah; Alec Jackson of Commerce City, CO; his great-grandson, Kaleb Fostero of Westminster, CO; his brother John Tourkolias of Long Beach, CA; his niece Nancy Bardsley (Greg) of San Carlos, CA; his great-nephews Jack Bardsley of San Carlos, CA, Dylan Bardsley of San Carlos, CA; his mother-in-law, Geraldine Brown of Riverton, WY; his brothers-in-law, Howard Brown of Riverton, WY; Gary Brown of Riverton, WY; Moose Brown of Riverton, WY; his sisters-in-law, Victoria Lopez of Riverton, WY; Marilyn Brown of Riverton, WY; Evelyn Brown of Riverton, WY; Nena Brown of Riverton, WY; Jocelyn Brown of Riverton, WY; his ""adopted"" daughters, Shannon Marie Brown of Riverton WY; April Kohler (Todd) of Sheridan, WY and Val Shrewsbury (Ben) of Arvada, CO. along with numerous family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Thomas A. Tourkolias Sr. of East Chicago, IN and Frances Tourkolias of Northridge, CA.

A celebration of life service will be held at Horan & McConaty 9998 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229 on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. Reception immediately following (location to be announced).
