Thomas "Jay" Lauhon, Jr.

April 28, 1939 — March 16, 2021

Brighton, Colorado

Thomas “Jay” Lauhon Jr passed away peacefully, surrounded by his adoring family in Brighton, Colorado on March 16, 2021, at the age of 81. Jay was born in Denver, Colorado on April 28, 1939, to Thomas Jay Lauhon Sr and Margaret Meibergen. The eldest of three, he shared his childhood home with brothers Ted (San Diego) and Terry (Colorado Springs).

Jay served four years in the National Guard before starting out in the work force as a carpenter. After building several homes he decided to switch careers in the late 1960's and go into the HVAC market where he ultimately started Four Seasons Heating with his son, Tom, and his son-in-law, Bernie, in 1987.

Jay loved all sports from fishing to golf and loved spending time with family and friends. In the mid 90's his love of golf led him to buy a house in Arizona with his wife of 43 years, Glenna, which led to many years of love and laughter for all. He had a very rich and fulfilling life, many travels, and great adventures with those around him.

Although Jay was an intimidating figure at 6ft tall, he had a heart of gold and would not hesitate to help the people in his life. From a simple gesture of buying a meal, to much grander gestures for anyone in need, you could count on him to be working behind the scenes. He was also a great mentor and leader. He loved his family fiercely and nothing gave him greater pleasure than spending time with them all. His greatest wish was to make everyone happy and he would go to great lengths to make this happen. Jay was a fighter and this was shown in all aspects of his life from work to family to his later health challenges. The loss of Jay has left a huge hole in our lives and our hearts are broken, but we will stay strong to honor his life and his memory.

Jay is survived by his wife, Glenna, and their daughter, Casey (Jeff); son and daughter Tom (Cheri) and Tami from his former marriage to Jackie DiRe Lauhon; six grandchildren BJ (Westminster), Kayleigh (Brighton), Braxton and Colton (Salt Lake City), Aubrey and Dakota (Commerce City); and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Jaxson (Salt Lake City). He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Bernie.

A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 27, 2021, 11:30am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery.
