Threnee was born on May 31, 1912 in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. He came to the United States with his mother and brothers in 1916 and lived in Chanute, Kansas where his father worked for the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe Railroad (ATSF). He attended Webster Grade School and Royster High School. He married Frances Hurtado on December 30, 1939 and they settled in Gering Nebraska in 1946, then moved to Scottsbluff in 1950. He and Frances were members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and St. Agnes. He founded The Fiesta del Valle organization whose mission was to strengthen the pride of the Mexican heritage in the community. The organization flourished and from the proceeds a community event center was built. He began working as an auto mechanic in 1945 at Farrell's Garage. He moved to Rosenberger's Desoto/Plymouth dealership in 1948. In 1952, he began working for Kramer Motors, and worked there until 1959. He worked for Gilman Motors from 1959 to 1986, when he retired. He loved following the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and enjoyed fishing for 80-years, tending garden, and garage-saleing with Frances. His final years were shared with his sister Lenore, who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his children - Sam (Esther Guerra), Kathy Dickson (Don) of Denver, CO, Terese Mast of Kearney, NE, and Michael (Heather) of Cheyenne, WY, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sisters Lenore Marquez and Tillie Cabral, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, sons Tommy Joe, Michael Lawrence and Robert, parents, Amador and Micaela Marquez, brothers Ted, Ignacio, and Frank.
