Tim Burrell

May 26, 1975 — November 22, 2012

Timothy Lee Burrell died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Littleton, Colorado on Thanksgiving morning, November 22, 2012. He was 37 years old. Tim was born at Swedish Hospital in Englewood, Colorado on May 26, 1975 to Patricia and Gene Burrell. He grew up in the Denver metro area and attended Regis High School, where he excelled at both academics and athletics. He went on to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha on a basketball scholarship and graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Computer Science. He became an accomplished computer programmer in the financial industry, working for Broadridge Financial Solutions (formerly ADP) on three occasions, as well as working as an independent contractor. As an adult, Tim remained active in athletics and met his wife Nicole Hetz-Burrell on September 6, 2003 when she subbed in on his team during a volleyball tournament. Immediately smitten, he asked Nicole out on a date that day. They went out that same night....and they were married two years later on Capistrano Beach, California on September 30, 2005. During their wonderful seven year marriage, they were blessed with two beautiful boys: Zaiden, age 5, and Brody, age 20 months. Tim is survived by his wife and sons; his dog Moose; his parents Gene and Pat Burrell; his brother Paul and his sister Dawn. In addition to his love for computers and sports, Tim loved the outdoors: hiking, camping and four-wheeling in his Toyota FJ. He was dedicated to his family above all else. He was loving, loyal and kind, possessing uncommon integrity mixed with humble generosity, offering his time, talent and resources in countless ways, often with no formal recognition. He will be forever remembered for his goofy grin, frequent movie and television quotes, and his unapologetic passion for Monty Python and Seinfeld. The Force was strong in this one....may grace and the Peace which passes all understanding be with his Spirit and all of us as we struggle to move on in this world without him among us. If I ever leave this world alive I'll take on all the sadness That I left behind If I ever leave this world alive The madness that you feel will soon subside So in a word, don't shed a tear I'll be here when it all gets weird If I ever leave this world alive - ""If I Ever Get Out of This World Alive,"" by Flogging Molly There will be a Recitation of the Rosary held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 6:30 P.M. and a Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:30 A.M., both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of South Holly Street), in Centennial Colorado.
