Timothy P. Murphy

Timothy Patrick Murphy, age 93, died at his home in Westminster, CO on Dec. 9, 2023. He was born in New York, NY to Peter and Julia (Bens) Murphy. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Pace University. Mr. Murphy started his career at The New York Times and went on to work at IBM for 35 years until his retirement. Mr. Murphy was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War.

Mr. Murphy was an avid golfer and lifelong Dodgers fan, remaining loyal to his team when it moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles.

His is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joan; their son, Tim (Lisa) of Stamford, CT; their daughter, Kelli (R.J.) of Louisville, CO; and two grandchildren, Maeve and Conall. He is also survived by his sister, Rita, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and three sisters: Kathleen, Margaret, and Julia.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Horan McConaty Funeral Home in Thornton. Funeral Services will take place at Nativity of Our Lord Church in Broomfield at 10:45 am on Thursday, Dec. 14, followed by a reception.
