Centennial

Timothy Lee John Ortmeier, 64, of Centennial, Colorado, died February 9, 2022, at the Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center. Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, 10:00 a.m., at Our Father Lutheran Church, 6335 South Holly Street, Centennial, Colorado.

Tim was born May 14, 1957, in West Point, Nebraska, to William A. (Bill) and Marilyn E. (Buerman) Ortmeier. He graduated from Aquinas High School, David City, Nebraska, in 1975. He graduated from Southeast Community College in 1976 with a degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. After working in the HVAC industry, Tim excelled in a long career as a Certified Legal Video Specialist. As a tireless volunteer, he provided countless hours of videography services to the Women's Bar Association, Our Father Lutheran Church, and other organizations.

Tim had many interests and hobbies. He had a talent for woodworking and complex home improvement projects. Tim loved to cook and was fearless in trying new recipes and adapting them to his liking. Tim was a “car guy,” always keeping his vehicles in immaculate condition. He had a passion for his 1957 Chevy Bel Air station wagon, spending enjoyable hours tinkering and driving.

Tim's greatest joy was his family. He was a constant support and presence for sons Jedediah and Garrett. Tim proudly watched them in their school activities and sports, cheering them on and often videotaping their accomplishments. Tim embodied devotion as he led his family through many challenging medical crises. Jackson, beloved seizure-alert service dog, joined our family through Tim's efforts.

Tim is survived by Laurie Ortmeier of Commerce City, CO; son Jedediah of Commerce City, CO; son Garrett, daughter-in-law Gretchen, and granddaughter Lily of Northglenn, CO; sisters and brothers-in-law Kathy and Chris Blubaugh of Caldwell, KS; Barb Ortmeier and Tom Hennessy of Olathe, KS; and Beth and LeeRay Augustine of Shelby, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be given to Our Father Lutheran Church, 6335 South Holly Street, Centennial, CO 80121; Assistance Dogs of the West, P. O. Box 31027, Santa Fe, NM 87594; or Denver Hospice, 8289 East Lowry Boulevard, Denver, CO 80230
