Timothy Howard Speck

Timothy H. Speck (Tim), age 49, son of Joyce E. Speck (Joy) of Bailey, and the late Norman H. Speck Jr., of Denver, died Wednesday, April 13th, at Rose Medical Center. Tim was born in Sanford, FL, the son of a Naval Officer. Tim and his family lived many places during his youth, notably Sanford, FL, San Diego, CA, Treasure Island, CA, Oakland, CA, Hayward, CA, Midway Island, and Beeville, TX. In 1976, the Speck family moved to Colorado, where Tim would graduate from Bear Creek High School in 1979. Tim attended the Colorado School of Mines and finished up at CSU, and eventually started his own business, Graphic Images. Tim recently lived in Denver with his life partner and love of 28 years, Steve Russell. Tim was a very strong individual of tremendous character, and terrific wit. He was deeply loved by many. All of us who had the opportunity to know him feel extremely fortunate to have had him touch our lives. He enjoyed life to the fullest, in both work and play, he loved to laugh, and will be terribly missed by all. Tim was a music admirer, a high-performance car enthusiast, a mechanic, a carpenter, an art lover, a cook, a computer wiz, a min-pin fan, a gardener, a movie quote reference, a spirited homeowner, an adored and treasured partner, a reverent and loving uncle, a cherished and appreciated brother, a sound and caring son, and a magnificent and honored friend. Surviving with his partner and his beloved mother, is his loving sister, Lynda J. Speck of Lakewood and his two nieces, Brittany L. Farnes of Holyoke and Brianna M. Farnes of Lakewood; his newfound loving sister Sandy Lynam and two nephews, Daniel and Kevin Lynam. Also surviving are several cousins, aunts and uncles, in addition to a number of close friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, 3:00 PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood.
