Todd Ayers, 55 years of age, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on May 8, 2011. Todd was born in Alliance, Ohio on October 25, 1955. He grew up in Louisville, Ohio with his brothers, Jay and Dale and sister Lisa. He enjoyed sports, playing basketball, and tennis. His passion for the drums earned him the position of lead drummer for his high school marching band, as well as an opportunity to play with Buddy Rich. Todd joined the Air Force after being laid off from HP Products. He was stationed at Chanute and Scott Air Force Bases and spent a year in Korea. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant. In 1987 he was transferred to Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado where he worked as a systems analyst until he retired in March 2010. Todd joined and quickly became an active member of the American Legion Post 1992, in Aurora, Colorado. He served as Gaming Manager, Jr. Vice, Senior Vice and Post Commander. It was at a Post event that he met his wife of almost 7 years Nancy. Todd was a loving husband, a proud father to Jeremy, Jennifer and Shawn and Grandfather to Ashley and Sydney, and Logan due in August. He leaves behind not only his wife, children and grandchildren, but his parents, Ray and Norma, siblings, Jay (Becky), Lisa (John), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brother Dale. A Memorial Service for Todd will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (at South Parker Road), Aurora, Colorado 80014. A committal service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
