With sad and heavy hearts, the family of Tony L. Scott of Aurora, Colorado announces that he entered eternal life on November 27, 2020.
Tony was born in Delaware, Ohio on August 3, 1950. He was a graduate of Rutherford B. Hayes High School. Class of 68’, where he was a gifted athlete.
Tony first left home when he joined the United States Marine Corps, at the age of 20. He then left home again at the age of 31 to go out west to Denver, Colorado to settle down with the love of his life, Tina Marie Smith (Scott) also of Delaware, Ohio.
They enjoyed over 38 blessed and loving years together while raising their 5 children.
Tony’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished his wife Tina, his children, Lew, Jon, Tony Jr., Brittani, and Joey, and his grandchildren. Tony and Tina have 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Tony loved to read and traveling with his wife. Tony was a lifelong fisherman. He taught all four of his sons to fish as soon as they were able to walk. The memories of fishing with his sons were some of his most treasured.
Tony will be remembered as a kind, sweet, gentle, outgoing, personable, caring God-fearing man. He was a loyal friend to many.
A committed, loving husband, father, provider. Tony had an incomparable work ethic, driven by his love for his family. He was a loving big brother to his three younger siblings, Burnett, Brenda, and Rodney, and a little brother to his beloved big Sis, Tomasina.
In his retirement years, Tony loved to work his job at Home Depot, where he especially enjoyed his many regular customers that would come into the store just to visit with Tony. Sometimes stopping by, not to shop or buy anything, just popping in to see and say hi to Tony. So many people were touched by his genuine and warm demeanor, the sparkle in his eyes, his smile, and his spirit.
The loss of Tony has been described over and over as immeasurable. He was simply adored. What an amazing legacy he leaves.
