It is with a heavy heart we share the news of Chris Etterâs passing on December 26, 2017. Although Chris had serious health issues, he continued to sustain until he could receive a permanent solution. Unfortunately, he was in a vehicle accident that took his life too soon. While driving to work on December 26, 2017, Chrisâs vehicle veered off I-25 near Mead due to a medical condition. We find comfort in the fact the Colorado State Patrol who showed up on the scene believe Chris had no comprehension of what was about to happen, had no fear, or felt no pain. Chris was born in Rochester, New York and raised in Lakewood, Colorado. He attended Alameda High School and received his GED in 1988. Chris grew up in a house where the talk between his parents, Ron and Carol Etter, was about being not only a glazier, but a Union Glazier. Ron worked as a Union Glazier for 40 years, and taught his son how to be excellent at what he did. Chris stood tall when he talked about being in the Union and being a glazier. He recently started working for Hall Aluminum Products (HAP) in Kiowa, Colorado and loved going to work every day. Great things were happening in Kiowa. He has a sister, Barbara, who did not get the itch to be a glazier, but has the utmost respect for the occupation. Chris took pride in his family. He and Amy shared a wonderful life together in Loveland while raising their children Kaytlyn (16) and Ellyanna (6). They attended church on Sunday as a family and Chris worked in the preschool room every week. In 2011, he was baptized, which gives us the gift of knowing we will see him again. He has an adult son, Mason (25) and Chris looked forward to meeting Masonâs new family, Michelle and Cayson (2 months). Chris was a member of Local Union 930. In his free time, he enjoyed target shooting, was a âwanna-beâ Harley Davidson motorcycle owner and admired their riders, and cheered on the Pittsburgh Steeler football team. Chris is survived by his wife, Amy; children, Mason (25) (Michelle), Kaytlyn (16), Ellyanna (6); parents, Ron and Carol Etter; sister, Barbara Townsley (Steve); grandchildren, Cayson (2 months); nephew, Brandon (Christie) and nieces Brittney and Elora. We are having Chrisâs funeral arrangements done through Horan and McConaty. They have done a wonderful job taking care of the details of the funeral and cremation, which allows us to grieve without worry. Horan also worked diligently to make sure Chris looks like himself giving us comfort. Any financial contributions are sincerely appreciated and will be put towards the funeral and cremation costs. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Chris' Go Fund Me page: https://www.gofundme.com/chris-etters-funeral-expenses. The family will receive friends and family during visitation on Sunday, December 31, 2017, from 2-4 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (County Line west of Holly), in Centennial, Colorado 80122.
