On August 30th 2020, this world lost a great man. Troy Edward Barker age 46, was an amazing son, husband, uncle, and friend. He passed away unexpectedly at North Suburban Medical Center.
He was born on November 18, 1973, in Denver, CO, to Oral Eugene Barker and Carol Lynn Barker of Thornton, CO. He lived with his wife, Rebecca in Henderson, CO. He was the Diagnostic Center and Building Technology Coordinator at Vantage Point High School in the Adams 12 School District located in Northglenn, CO, where he worked for 27 years. Troy was also a graduate of Vantage Point. Troy knew he wanted to be a part of the School that helped him succeed. Vantage Point continued to be a very important part of his life. Troy was very passionate about his work with the students, families, and staff. He was always one to advocate for what was best for the students.
He left behind the love of his life, his wife, Rebecca Lynn Barker of Henderson, CO. His Parents Oral Eugene Barker and Carol Lynn Barker of Thornton, CO. Siblings Cyndee Doner of Fleming, CO and Todd Barker of Sterling, CO. Father and Mother-in-Law Thomas Solga and Sandra Solga of Farmington, NM. Sister-in-Laws Leslie Teague (Tim) of Springfield, TN, Jayme Solis (Dennis) of Farmington, NM, Christa Solga (Jason) of Safety Harbor, FL. Brother-in-Laws Tommy Solga (Amanda) of Albuquerque, NM, Nick Solga (Kelly) of Commerce City, CO. He also left behind Nieces and nephews, Brittany Barker of Fleming, CO, Nathan and Nolan Teague of Springfield, TN, Greyson Solis of Farmington, NM, Aliyah, Michaela and Thomas Solga of Albuquerque, NM, and great niece Charlyann Barker of Fleming, CO. Troy was preceded in death by nephew Brian Doner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday September 10th at 2:00 pm at Horan & McConaty. Due to COVID restrictions, services will be closed to the public. For those unable to attend in person, the service will also be live streamed via www.bxcited.com/troybarker
A public Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
