Trudy Rosa Gschwend passed away May 20, 2017 at the age of 89, from Alzheimer's Disease. Trudy was born in the small town of Alstatten, Switzerland on April 23, 1928. She was the wife of Leo Karl Gschwend until his death in 2003. Trudy is the mother of four children: Fred (Jeanne), Heidy Wyche, Susie Gschwend Orr (Ed), and Margi Gschwend Kaspari (Tony). She is the grandmother of six: Maria and Alex Gschwend, Jenna and Julie Kaspari, Sarah Orr and Michael Wyche. She has three great grandchildren: Phoenix Gschwend Ward, Tino Gschwend Ward and Theodore (Teddy) Gschwend. Trudy was married to Leo on January 6, 1951. They moved to Colorado in 1954 where they soon started their own catering business, Chef Leo's Catering. They were the premier caterer in Denver serving Denver's elite businesses and individuals for over two decades and trained many of Denver's current caterers. Trudy loved the mountains where she and her husband built a beautiful chalet for their family to enjoy. She also loved to garden and raised many of her own vegetables. Her passion for fresh flowers was seen in her beautiful rock garden that she planted and nurtured for many years. She couldn't wait for spring to plant her flower boxes everywhere. Trudy also loved to knit and even started a knitting class in the assisted living facility where she reside for her final years. She was kind, loving, and caring to all who knew her. She was a classy, gracious, giving and caring woman to all who knew her. We have lost a beautiful woman and Heaven has received a new beautiful angel. Memorial Service honoring Trudy's life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 6 at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street, Denver, Colorado.
