Tyler Joseph Jackson
September 21, 1996-December 31, 2019
Tyler Joseph Jackson, 23, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. He was born in Papillion, Nebraska on September 21, 1996, son of Jackie (Johnson) and Toby. He attended Bellevue East High School and graduated from Omaha North High STEM Magnet School, where he was a straight-A student and 2-time state wrestling champion. He was currently living in Westminster, Colorado at the time of his passing.
Following Tyler's graduation, he received a wrestling scholarship from and attended Colorado State University-Pueblo, where he was unable to continue due to a medical injury. He returned to the Omaha area where he worked with local youth as a wrestling mentor and referee for Bellevue Recreation, and as a trainer at a children's gym. During this time, Tyler also began song-writing, producing, and performing in shows, oftentimes using his own savings to fund events. He ultimately moved back to Colorado where he continued to pursue his passion as a musician and artist. Always the adventurous spirit, Tyler saved up and made arrangements to take his girlfriend, Danahi, to Europe in early January.
Many who knew Tyler would argue that the world only experienced a sliver of his ever-so unique and promising talents; he had an exponential amount yet to share. Still, during his incomplete time with us, he was able to touch the lives of everyone with whom he interacted and momentously impact those closest to him. Tattooed on his forearm is the word ""Indigo"" which symbolizes spirituality, wisdom, devotion, creativity, impartiality, justice, and dignity-all fitting traits. His special power: the natural ability to make people feel extraordinarily loved, important, and safe. Tyler's legacy reminds us these things: to be authentic and stay true to yourself, to show compassion for everyone, and to not take a single day for granted.
Tyler is survived by his loving parents, Jackie Argarin, Toby Jackson, and stepfather Ernie Argarin; his beloved siblings, Emberlyn Argarin, Quimby Jackson, and stepsister Siena Argarin. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Lora Peters, John and Cecilis Johnson; grandparents, Marti and Ken Kolthoff and Jerry and Janie Jackson; his several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and dearest friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Phillip Peters.
