Urban Melvin Bellrose

Urban Melvin Bellrose passed away February 13, 2014 at the age of 85. He was born November 24, 1928 to Alvah and Sybil (Tillotson) Bellrose in Brockton, Massachusetts. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Hildegard (Seibold) Bellrose; children William (Charmain) Bellrose and Susan (Mark) Horner; five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister Ann Scott. Urban was preceded in death by son Michael and brother John. Urban attended Hanson, Massachusetts schools and graduated in the class of 1946 from Whitman High. After graduation he worked for the National Register Company and for his grandfather. In September of 1950 he joined the United States Air Force and served for twenty years as a Precison Measurement Equipment Laboratory Technician and Instructor. He served two tours in Germany where he met Hilda and the two were married on February 20, 1954. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Urban worked for the Western Electric Company in Aurora for three years. The then took time off to build his family home in Aurora. He was hired by the Aurora Public Schools maintenance section as a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning serviceman and retired as the Shop Supervisor in April 1989. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 10:00 in the morning at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., in Aurora. Committal will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 11:30. Please meet at staging area B.
