Ursula Donovan Bourgault

November 16, 1933 — April 17, 2020

Ursula Bourgault, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend died on April 17, 2020 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was 86-years-old.

Ursula was born in Boston, Massachusetts. As a little girl, her family moved to Milton, Massachusetts, a working class Irish Catholic neighborhood southwest of Boston. After graduating high school in 1951, she traveled to California, with her lifelong friend, Carolyn, who with her parents, relocated to California. Ursula's plans were for a 2-week vacation, but she loved everything about California and never returned to Boston to live, only to visit. Her parents and sister, Irene, quickly followed, and they also made California their new home.

Ursula met her husband, Edward, at a Catholic Church Young Adult Club and they married in 1956. Ed was also a transplant from Massachusetts. They went on to have two daughters and a son.

During their life together, they were very fortunate to do a great deal of traveling. First with a camping club through the Telephone Company. The trips were every month and they made wonderful friends and memories. Their three children grew up with the club and also have very happy memories.

In addition to traveling with the club, they spent many summers camped on the shores of Lake Tahoe with their closest friends. It was truly their favorite place on earth. When their children grew up and moved on with lives, Ursula and Ed changed their traveling to cruises to many ports of call and also three land tours to Europe.

After 51 years of marriage, Ed passed away of Alzheimer's Disease in 2007. In 2016, Ursula sold their home of 62 years in West Hills, California and moved to Colorado to be close to family. She moved into an independent living facility called Wind Crest, hung up her pots and pans, and proceeded to enjoy her new life of relaxation and became busy making new and wonderful friends. She was here when her first great grandchildren were born and so enjoyed the little ones.

During their years together, Ursula and Ed had some wonderful dogs, all loved camping, and when she moved to Colorado her much beloved ""Annie"" a Bishon Frise came with her. Annie passed away at the age of 13 last October after having been with Ursula for 8 years.

Ursula was also a good friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. who gave her a new way of living. She was a proud and grateful member of AA and celebrated many, many years of sobriety.

Ursula is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Mare), son Ron (Lyndee), and daughter Valerie. She leaves behind grandchildren Kyle (Whitney) and Rachel, and step-grandchildren Ryan and Addy; great grandchildren, Abigail, Lorelai and Ivan Edward, as well as brother-in-law Jon (Stephanie); and many nieces and nephews.

Ursula was predeceased by husband Ed, sisters Marty and Irene, and her parents, Beatrice and Joseph Donovan.

If you would like to honor Ursula's life, you can make a donation to Catholic Relief Services, 228 W. Lexington St. Baltimore, MD 21201; or Alcoholics Anonymous, 16132 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91406.

A service of remembrance will be held in Highlands Ranch, Colorado at a later date.

Interment will be at the San Fernando Mission in California, at a later date, for family members and any friends who wish to attend.
