Ursula Mary Wesselhoeft

July 10, 1941 — December 12, 2022

Ursula Mary Wesselhoeft went home to be with her King of Kings, December 12, 2022, at the age of 81.

Ursula grew up in Massachusetts, graduated from Katharine Gibbs College, and became one of the first women to head customer relations for Gulf Oil. However, her passion was her work with Community Bible Study (CBS), and as a CBS member and core group leader, her heart was most filled through service to others.

Ursula and Karl Wesselhoeft were married for 52 years. Their love story blossomed out of a long-time friendship, growing into a marriage grounded in faith, family, and unwavering love. She was a devoted, loving wife who adored life’s simple joys: a babbling brook, hands in a garden, paintbrush to canvas, and getting lost in a good book. She was an adventurous woman who sailed the ocean, loved animals, and enjoyed long drives with her family. But Ursula is most remembered for her love for Jesus, and in sharing Him with others, she built a community like no other. She served tirelessly within her beloved church, ministering to those in need, communing with women, needlepointing kneelers, going anywhere she was needed in service to God.

As a wife, mother of two, sister of three, grandmother of six, and a forever friend to all who knew her, Ursula is, and will be truly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Karl, daughter Lisa (Josh), son Todd (Fion), grandchildren Hunter, Hayden, Sterling, Jaxson, River and Quinn, sister, Anne Grafton, sister-in-law Pat Baker, numerous nieces and nephews, Community Bible Study members, and her Church extended family, all of whom she loved dearly. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Mary and Joseph Baker, brothers Norman and Ralph Baker, and brother-in-law William Grafton.

Ursula lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met. We welcome you to join us at her memorial service on Saturday January 28, 2023, Christ Episcopal Church Denver, CO at 1:30 pm to share your stories of remembrance as we celebrate her life.

Memorials are devoted to continuing her legacy, and may be made in her name to either of the two organizations she loved most:

THE DENVER ZOO https://denverzoo.org/support/donate/
