Vallerie Jo Easton, known affectionately as Val, passed away on October 27, 2023, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born on September 23, 1952, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Frederick Jay “Doc” and Mary H. Burke Sellers. Val led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and countless memorable moments.
Val began her career at Mountain Bell as a Clerk and worked diligently to climb the ranks, becoming a field engineer with the phone company. After three decades of dedicated service, Val finally retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and perseverance.
While Val was committed to her career, her true joy came from being a best friend to her daughters and a beloved friend to all. She cherished the role of mother and found immense happiness in nurturing her children and grandchildren. Her daughters and granddaughters are forever grateful for the unwavering support and guidance she provided in their lives.
Caring, kind-hearted, giving, loving––these were just a few words used to describe Val's radiant personality. Everyone who knew her called her ‘sweet’, a testament to her gentle nature and genuine compassion for others. Val had a heart brimming with love and always went out of her way to make those around her feel valued and cared for.
In addition to being an exceptional mother and friend, Val had many interests that brought her immense pleasure. She channeled her creativity into sewing, crafting, and crocheting beautiful blankets for friends, family members, and even donated them to those in need. Her talent shone bright through every stitch.
Val also found solace and tranquility in nature. She enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors, as well as taking leisurely drives in the mountains that allowed her to experience the wonders of God's creation. Her passion for wildlife extended beyond the wilderness – she held a deep affection for all kinds of animals.
Val's proudest accomplishments in life were undoubtedly her children and grandchildren. They brought an immeasurable amount of joy to her heart. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Val's legacy lives on through the love and kindness that she instilled in her family.
Val leaves behind a loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Easton, who stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. She is also survived by her daughters, Randee Jo Brown (Michael “Chilly” Shadduck) and Jamee Marie Easton; granddaughters, Gina Marie Easton and Alanna Raquel Lopez; sister, Vickie Dunning; brother, Terry Sellers; and niece, Katherine “Kit” Robinson and her family. Val was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Frederick J. “Skip” Sellers, II and Thomas G. Sellers.
In this time of grief, we find solace in the memories shared with Val. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
