Vance Victor Vogt

October 16, 1940 — June 6, 2020

Vance Vogt, 79 and a long-time resident of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on June 6, 2020. He leaves behind a large family that will always love, remember, and cherish him. Vance and his wife, Marty Vogt (Villano) of Arvada, CO, were married for 62 years. The rest of the family includes his sons, Jim (Debi) Vogt of San Diego, CA, Mike (Karen) Vogt, of Bedford, WY, Mark Vogt of Sandpoint, ID, Steve (Madonna) Vogt of Strasburg, CO, and his daughter, Michelle MacLaird of Loveland, CO, as well as 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Ronald Vogt of Arvada, CO. Vance was pre-deceased by his parents, James and Anna Vogt.

Vance was born and raised mostly in Denver, CO and earned his bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Regis College in Denver. He spent his entire career with Mountain Bell/US West/Qwest Communications and retired in 1986. He was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, hunter, and photographer, and he loved capturing the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains, whether scenery, wildflowers, or wildlife.

He touched the lives of many as a gregarious photographer of weddings and other special events. He always enjoyed his drives in the Colorado mountains, priding himself in tackling one mountain pass after another. Another thing Vance enjoyed was good food. He ate with gusto and relished the cooking of several of his talented grandchildren. He experienced much joy with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his infectious laugh could often be heard when he was around them.

Vance was a devout Catholic and active member of the Shrine of St. Anne in Arvada. He was known as a dedicated patriot and a firm believer in the ideals of his country - life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Recitation of the Rosary is on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10am with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30am, both at Shrine of St. Anne Catholic Church, 7555 Grant Place, Arvada, Colorado 80002.
