Vera Mae Davis, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from St. Andrews Village Skilled Nursing center on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
Born November 18, 1923 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Irvin A. and Gertie I. (Moyer) Spatz, she grew up in Reading, was married there in 1945 and had their first child. In 1953, the family moved to Arlington, Texas where they lived for 30 years. She worked for a sign company (Sa-So) as an inventory specialist for over 20 years until retiring in 1982, at which time she moved to Aurora, Colorado. Vera was a member of McCarroll Bible Church in Denver, Colorado, where she enjoyed working with the nursery children for many years. She loved the Lord and continued to serve Him in many ways throughout her life. She loved people and made numerous friends and especially enjoyed sending greeting cards to them all.
Survivors include her son David (Patty) Babers from her first husband W.T. Babers, grandchildren Paul (Melissa) Babers, Nathan (Lori) Babers, Rebekkah Babers, Stephen (Valerie) Babers and 5 great-grandsons, 3 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Vera Lynn, W.T. Babers (1st husband), her husband H. Virgil Davis, three sisters and 3 brothers.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at McCarroll Bible Church, 391 S. Holly St. in Denver, Colorado 80222.
Vera loved missions. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McCarroll Bible Church. The funds will be sent to the missionaries Vera personally supported.
